Depending on the type of ear buds you choose when you listen to your music, they are most likely very stylish or deliver great sound quality. And if you wear ear buds for style, then the iDiamond Earphones are ones that will make your ears truly sparkle!
These diamonds were created by Thomas Heyerdahl, who was also the genius behind the very pricey iDiamond iPhones. These earphones are designed in the same fashion as standard iPhone ear buds but they are of course, built using 18 karat gold. Oh, and into this gold are 204 diamonds, another nice little addition that you won’t find on the standard buds. And what makes them even more valuable? Despite other ‘most expensive’ items which are only created as a prototype or as a one-time charity event, these ear buds were sold for actual consumer sale but with the catch that only 1,000 pairs would be made! And for authentication purposes, every pair is embedded with a number from 1-1,000 so people would know they were getting the real deal.
These ear buds were first sold in March 2008 but of course, only the highest-end and finest jewellery stores sold them. At that time, you could bob away to your favorite song for only $6,400. But now that there aren’t publicly available, a pair of the world’s most expensive ear buds will probably cost you even more than that!
